Happy Holidays 2011

Incase you haven’t read DOTTY’S DIMENSIONS CONTINUES #12, I am no longer publishing the above-mentioned newsletter. Instead, I will be publishing a twice-a-year column called DOTTY’S DIMENSIONS: THE COLUMN (The State I’m In and Other Places). The odd-numbered issues will come out in September and cover those places I went to from March through August; the even-numbered issues will come out in March and cover those places I went to from September through February.  Again, before visiting any place I mentioned in my publications on your own, sending money to anyone or any business that I recommended, please check their web sites, telephone them, or get help from the reference department of your local or county library first. A lot can and will happen in the 12 or more years since I’ve published DOTTY’S DIMENSIONS and DOTTY’S DIMENSIONS CONTIINUES. Happy Holidays!

DDMMT2011

STOP PRESS: MY CAPITAL TIME 2008 marks the end of this series. Starting with DDC #7, my Washington, DC, trips will appear in the odd-numbered issues.
Instead of MY CAPITAL TIME, I'll be writing a yearly column called MOSTLY MATINEE TIME. Portions of this column will appear in different publications, but I will offer the whole column plus two black and white pictures under the same conditions as my former Washington, DC, column. This column will cover four shows per year that I'll be attending:
A theater in Philadelphia and three films in New York City.

⤓ MOSTLY MATINEE TIME 2010/2011:

Philadelphia Theater:
(1) Walnut St. Theater--White Christmas

NYC Cinemas:
(2) Loews Kips Bay--The Social Network
(3) Regal Union Square--The King's Speech
(4) AMC Loews Lincoln Square--No Strings Attached
END OF SERIES

Clearing Up Facts About My Publication

Hello. This is the first time I've written anything on this blog in a while; therefore, I thought I would use this space to update and clarify different things. 1. If you see prices on my web site, they are for the few of you who still want paper copies of my publications from me; I have to cover my own postage, printing, and paper expenses. 2. Ignore the Cherry Hill address; my address is now in Haddonfield. 3. If you order several publications at once and want to send a cheque or money order, write it to DOROTHY M KURTZ, not Dimensional Press. 4. Now to update one of my earliest publications, DOTTY'S DIMENSIONS: THE PREFACE, on page 4, the former Wanamakers store that became Lord & Taylor's is now Macy's. They still have the light show near Christmas, the eagle statue, and they brought back some animated windows for the Holidays. On page 7, the Adams Mark hotel is gone, and there is now a Target store in its place.  As for page 15, as far as I know, Factsheet 5 is strictly online. If anybody knows of any publication that lists many kinds of fanzines, both paper and online, would he or she please let me know about it.

DOTTY'S DIMENSIONS: OVERSEAS: In entry 3, much, if not all of the 20th-century art that was in the original Tate Gallery is now in the new Tate Modern Gallery. On entry 26, the BBC Experience may be in their Shepherd's Bush studios by now. For entry 50, Musee de L'Horlogerie (Clock and Watch Museum) may have relocated also. Before visiting anyplace I've listed, please check their web sites, telephone them, or get help from the reference department of your local or county library first before visiting on your own. A lot can happen in ten, 11 years, or more.

The above sentence is especially true when it comes to anyplace, publication, or anything else listed in the DOTTY'S DIMENSIONS newsletters. I published those NLs between the years 2000 to 2006. Please keep this in mind before sending money to any business or anybody as well.

DOTTY'S DIMENSIONS: CLOSER TO HOME: The Forbes Gallery is now closed. Nevertheless, there are plenty of things to see and do in Greenwich Village. I'd suggest using Google and searching "Village Alliance."

DOTTY'S DIMENSIONS CONTINUES: The Washington, DC, ESPN Zone is gone. In fact, I've noticed many theme restaurants gone in different areas in the last few years.
